Suomi Laws

Admin Note: These are the laws/policies of Suomi and the Suomi Troupe as of 206.06.11 (September 4th, 2024). While I attempt to keep this page updated with any revisions, the in-game Suomi Troupe board is the final, definitive authority on what is current law/policy.

Suomi Citizenship Guidelines

To be eligible for Suomi citizenship, the following criteria must be met:

I. Eligibility Criteria

  • No Arrests, Warrants, or Ranger Warnings within one Deoch.
  • No more than two criminal marks (Arrests, Jails, Exiles) where the most recent is at least eight Deochs old.
  • No Sgath scars.
  • No history of being publically heretical.
    • This includes a history of threatening the spirit of others in real life, a history of speaking or shouting about strange celebrities, technologies, stores, restaurants, and other modern things that are not feasibly found in the world.
  • No history of public harassment of other individuals.
  • No Heretical or Inappropriate Names.

Admittance Procedure

The following steps must be taken for an Aisling to be admitted as a Suomi citizen:

  • Troupe member is to explain that Suomi citizenship has no political advantages. Aislings cannot tailor or create armor without having already held the office of Respected Citizen from Mileth or Rucesion townships. Leaving the prior town is not required for citizenship.
  • Troupe member should investigate the Aisling's legend to ensure that no current exile exists.
  • Troupe member should check Mundane Notices to see if the proposed citizen is not currently in higher office (Buard, Demagogue, Guard Captain, Judge, or Burgess) in Mileth or Rucesion.
  • Troupe member should check the Ranger board to ensure that there are no warnings or warrants for the prospective citizen, as these would not appear on their legend.
  • A Troupe Burgess can make exceptions to the guidelines above, made in their best judgement for an Aisling who has reformed but does not currently meet requirements.

Suomi Advancement and Voting Criteria

Below are the advancement requirements for Suomi Culture Advocate and Suomi Troupe, as well as the voting criteria. For Suomi Citizenship, please see the Suomi Citizenship Guidelines post.

Advancement to Suomi Culture Advocate

  • Any Aisling interested in becoming a Suomi Culture Advocate can find an application on the Suomi Troupe News board, or one can be requested from an active Troupe or Burgess. Please fill it in and return it by hand or by parcel to a member of the Troupe.
  • There is no waiting period to become a Culture Advocate at this time. Your application will be judged on merit and worthiness. Applying yourself or attending Troupe Meetings is smiled upon.
  • Any Aisling who applies but does not become a Suomi Culture Advocate has a ((2 month)) waiting period before they are able to re-apply. Speaking with a Troupe member can help guide you on your way to becoming a Culture Advocate.

Advancement to Suomi Troupe

  • Must be a Suomi Culture Advocate.
  • There is no waiting period to advance to Suomi Troupe, however, this does not mean instant advancement from Advocate. It means that each Aisling shall be judged on their individual merit, effort, ability to be a benefit to the Troupe, and at their own speeds.
  • Any Advocate who feels they have put in sufficient work and effort to become a full-fledged member of the Suomi Troupe can find an application on the Suomi Troupe News board, or can be requested from an active Troupe or Burgess. Please fill it in and return it by hand or by parcel to a member of the Troupe.
  • Any Advocate who applies but does not become a member of the Suomi Troupe has a ((2 month)) waiting period before they are able to re-apply. That time is best spent assessing how you can grow into a potential role with the Troupe and to improve on weaker areas.

Voting Criteria

  • Only ACTIVE members of the Suomi Troupe and Suomi Culture Advocates have voting abilities.
  • See current Troupe roster for list of all Active members.
  • Active status is based on attendance and active participation in the Suomi Troupe and its activities. Active status will be decided by any active Burgess.
  • Voting shall remain open for the period of one week.
  • Final voting and tally will occur at the next scheduled Troupe Meeting ((Weekly)).
  • Advancement requires a 60% Majority vote for Advocate and Troupe.
  • Aislings will be advanced pending the voting results at the next Troupe Meeting.
  • Advocates, Troupe, and Burgess can all vote for new Suomi Culture Advocates.
  • Only Troupe and Burgess can vote for new Suomi Troupe Members.
