Arena Rules & Policies
Admin Note: These are the rules/policies of the Arena and as of 206.06.11 (September 4th, 2024). While I attempt to keep this page updated with any revisions, the in-game Arena board and Master Arena Hosts themselves are the final, definitive authority on what is current arena rule/policy.
Universal Arena Rules
Violating any rules that follow may result in a warning, banishment, or exile depending on the rule. Levels of punishment are:
- Warning - To be mailed to the violator
- Banishment (3 Hours)

- Four Moon Exile (~14 Days)
- Eight Moon Exile (~28 Days)
- One Deoch Exile (~45 Days)
- Two Deoch Exile (~90 Days)
- Four Deoch Exile (~180 Days)
Anyone caught breaking multiple rules (or the same rule multiple times) within four deochs will begin at the defined punishment for that rule, and have their punishment increased by one level for each additional violation. If level 7 is reached, a four deoch exile will be added for each additional offense. Some exceptions below specify punishment for repeat offenses, which will overrule this section.

Trial By Hosting: Selection Procedure
Hosts will be selected by a trial period of supervised hosted matches. Any aisling not previously barred from the team may contact a master host at any time to request a trial for becoming a host.
Trial Period and Probation
Once approved by a master host, the aisling will be appointed as a host and given one month to prove their valor. This will be considered their trial period, and they will be considered on probation during this time.
During this probationary period, the trial host is not approved to acquire their title, perform any disciplinary actions, or join the official host team until they have completed and passed the trial.
Requirements for Qualification
To qualify for the team, the trial host must host at least 10 supervised battles during this time.
- Supervision: The supervisor must be an existing member of the host team.
- Supervision by Captains or Master Hosts: At least five of these supervised battles must be supervised by a captain or master host.
- No Unsupervised Hosting: The trial host may not host any battles unsupervised. They will need to join the team before they may host on their own.
Evaluation and Decision
At the conclusion of the trial month, the host team will evaluate the trial host's performance and come to a decision on whether the trial host will be added to the team.
Once decided, this will be communicated to the trial host. If approved, they may then seek out their official title in Loures and will be added to the host discord where they may see additional information about their new position.
Failure to Pass the Trial
If the trial host does not pass their trial, they will be removed by a master host and may try again after at least one month has passed if they desire.
Abuse of Powers and Barred Host List
If the trial host is caught abusing their powers or hosting unsupervised, they will be removed and added to the barred host list. They may not apply as long as they remain on this list.
This list can be reconsidered every six months to determine if there may be an opportunity for redemption or if they will remain barred, as decided by the host leadership team.
Win Certificates and Free Wins
In the event that a misfired win cast or a disconnect prevents an Aisling from getting credit for a win, the officiating host may decide to issue that Aisling a Certificate that may be redeemed for a win in a future battle.
Redemption and Eligibility
This Certificate is only redeemable by the Aisling it was granted to (you can't redeem the win on an alt).
The Certificate expires 1 month after the issue date.
Usage Restrictions
Please note that win certificates and free wins may not be used to solve imbalanced matches, reward timed survival, or to manipulate experience received.
It is the responsibility of the host to provide the fairest match possible, and it is up to the participants to have ascended prior if experience gain is a concern.
These may only be used to resolve incidents out of the host's control. If in doubt, they should be reviewed by a master host for approval.
Honorary Host, Guest Host, and Emeritus
Honorary Host
Honorary Hosts have been given Arena Host privileges due to their involvement in other institutions. They are not Arena Hosts.
- No Voting or Jurisdiction Powers: Honorary Hosts do not have voting or jurisdiction powers.
- Advance Notice for Events: Notice must be given to a Host Captain or Master Host at least two double moons in advance if the arena is needed for an event they are hosting.
- Supervised Hosting: Hosting a battle outside of reserved events must be supervised by a fully qualified Arena Host (an Arena Host or higher appointed by a Master Host or Host Captain) not participating in the battle. Exceptions can be granted by a Host Captain or Master Host.
- Adherence to Rules: Honorary Hosts are subject to all other Universal and Arena Host rules in addition to those defined in this section.
Arena Host Emeriti
Arena Host Emeriti are previous Master Hosts and Arena Host Captains who have served with distinction (i.e., not removed, jailed, or discharged dishonorably otherwise).
- Rejoining the Team: Arena Host Emeriti are always able and welcome to rejoin the Arena Team.
- Probation Term: Arena Host Emeriti granted host status via this process will undergo the same Probation term that a new trial host is held to before they are to obtain their title, by approval of a Host Captain or Master Host.
Guest Hosting
Guest Hosting refers to allowing someone not on the Host team to host a battle.
- Supervision Required: All Guest Hosting must be supervised by a member of the arena host team. If Arena Host privileges are granted for this battle, they are to be immediately removed upon completion of the battle.
- Limited Powers: Guest hosts may not enforce any universal arena rules or perform any disciplinary actions for any reason; all issues must be reported to the supervising host or another member of the team. Guest hosts may only use the powers required to host a battle (broadcasting, placing team members, opening/closing gates, casting win, moving between maps).
- Consequences for Violation: Guest hosts who violate this privilege (e.g., logging off, hosting battles without assistance) will be exiled from the Arena for one Deoch. Subsequent offenders will be exiled for four Deochs.
- Accountability and Reporting: Any supervising Host that witnesses the guest host violating any host or universal arena rules must hold the guest host accountable and/or report to the Host Team with applicable evidence.
