The Lost Ruins
Introduction
Ever since the Lost Ruins were discovered in Deoch 83 [9, A1], Aislings have been helping Nairn ((Lost Ruins 1 44, 31)) explore the ruins that lie within this small island. This exploration is made ever harder by the monsters that guard them.
Probably picked by Law himself with the intent of preventing Aislings from being able to deal with him, these monsters have since become the target of bounties given by Nairn [12, 13, 14]. Her own investigations are made easier when the different sections of the Lost Ruins are made less hostile, and Aislings can also find gear and materials dropped by felled monsters.
The Quests
The Grimes of Lost Ruins 2 are not aggressive towards Aislings, but they do not like when mundanes come poking around the ruins located there. Do note that when at low health they will spawn additional ones, that are aggressive towards Aislings!
In Lost Ruins 4, Giants roam around the ruins. Generally they are not aggressive, unless one gets too close to them… which one has to do in order to investigate the ruins!
The Fire Worms of Lost Ruins 5 will only attack when approached too closely. If they stuck to the path that leads to the Fire Serpent this would not be much of a problem, but often they wander off and pose a major threat to mundanes and Aislings seeking the ruins.
The path to the ruins in Lost Ruins 6 is a perilous one. At first, there is no one around… when suddenly gruesome enemies appear and start casting sleep and blindness spells on Aislings! There is no question that Lost Ruins 6 is a very aggressive place.
Interestingly, the wolves in Lost Ruins 3 do not pose a threat to mundane research. Thus, there is no need to reduce their numbers.
Wind attacks are most effective in the Lost Ruins.
Nairn is a very patient mundane, and will gladly remind you of what monster you need to kill, in case you have forgotten!
Rewards
Nairn will reward Aislings of ability 50 or above that are successful in making the region less hostile with an assortment of 5 Hwarone Upgrade Plans. Which plans make up the reward depends on the monster type one is tasked with killing. In addition to the plans, the successful Aisling will be rewarded with 50 million experience points.
Hwarone Upgrade Plans are currently in high demand, since they are used for upgrading ability 45 gear into ability 55 ones [A7], learning higher ability skills and spells, crafting ability 95 gear [A8], and also empowering the Ancient Hy-brasyl Weapons [A9]
Group kills do NOT count in Lost Ruins 2
Despite Mundanes’ claims [13], Grimes spawned by other Grimes do NOT count
